Lost Ages: How Ocean Salinity Altered Polynesian Navigation and History
Saltwater Oceans are taken for granted as fact, as natural as the sky being blue or the earth being round. But it wasn’t always this way. There was once an age when 95% of water on earth was natural drinkable Freshwater. Life of all kinds thrived both in the oceans and on land, and the abundance of Freshwater was a necessary catalyst in humankind making the jump to an agriculture-based society. So what happened?
The Age of Freshwater
Long before Ferdinand Magellan became the “first” explorer to circumnavigate the globe, Polynesian voyagers traversed the oceans with unprecedented accuracy. These Polynesian argonauts relied on their intimate understanding of the stars, ocean currents, bird observations, and swell formations to explore the seas.
Historical records show the Polynesians likely originated near Micronesia and were able to use double-hulled canoes to sail beyond the known world. Evidence of the explorations can be found across Southeast Asia, the Antipodes, Antarctica, the Americas, and Hawaii. What could have caused this advanced culture to cease their travels?
Saltwater and the Decline of Civilization
Polynesian oral traditions tell of a sudden shift in their ability to explore caused by an alteration of the oceans: Saltwater. What was once Freshwater became salinated without warning and completely changed the biological, chemical, and physical makeup of the ocean. Ocean currents shifted as warm and cold water patterns adjusted, bird migrations and habits changed as the scarcity of drinkable water required longer journeys over oceans, and swell formations transformed as Saltwater affected the fluid dynamics of the water. The Polynesians were unable to use their known navigational techniques and since Saltwater has a 2-5% higher viscosity than Freshwater, the increased drag on their canoes slowed them down to an unacceptable speed over the long distances that ocean navigation requires.
Ancient Salt: How it was accomplished
The most significant unknown in the history of Big Salt is the ancient salting methodology. We know modern salt distribution methods include Chemtrails, Deepwater Pipelines, and Cloud Seeding, but how was it accomplished in the past? Thankfully, the Polynesian oral traditions give us another clue. Ancient Polynesian tradition, passed down from generation to generation, speaks of another people known as the “Others”. Narratives of the Others tell of a complex civilization that possessed advanced technologies that were utilized to salt the oceans.
What we know about the Others?
Unfortunately, not very much is known at this time. The Others are likely the same ancient Aliens that assisted with building the Egyptian Pyramids, Gunung Padang, and Göbekli Tepe. Modern scientists and archaeologists have done a fantastic job documenting the sophisticated ancient civilizations that were lost during the Younger Dryas Ice Age. It is possible that the Others were attempting to assist these civilizations in surviving the Ice Age via Salt distribution, only to have humankind twist the gifted technologies for its own sinister benefit.
